Musical direction and accompaniment provided by David Cohen.
Christopher Showerman grew up in rural Michigan and studied music composition at Michigan State University. After teaching music for several years, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. In the past few decades, he has racked up a pocket full of stage and TV credits but is still best known for portraying George in Disney’s George of the Jungle 2. His directorial debut, Radio America, is a music drama that he also wrote the script and songs for. He is delighted to be in a show that combines his love for live theater with his fondness for classic movie musicals!
For a span of more than 3 decades, Jon Peterson has performed professionally in National Broadway Tours, Cruise Ships, Regional Theaters, Children’s Theater, and as a chorister in 14 operas at Opera Pacific including La Boheme at the Hollywood Bowl. As a true triple threat, Jon has worked in the theater as a Producer, Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Singer, Dancer, and Actor. He currently serves as Executive Artistic Director and Founder of P3 Theatre Company. Some of his favorite theatrical roles include Juan Peron in Evita, Al in A Chorus Line, John Utterson in Jekyll and Hyde, Cornelius Hackl in Hello Dolly, Curly in Oklahoma, and the Governor in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. As an original cast member of MGM in Concert alongside Christy Mauro-Cohen and show creator Tony Santamouro which premiered in Florida in 1996, Jon is thrilled to be producing (and still starring in) this amazing show!
Christy Mauro-Cohen was destined for a career in show business. She has opened for Eddie Fischer, Rodney Dangerfield, Robert Klein, Jennifer Holliday, and Jackie Mason and performed for Clint Eastwood at his swearing-in for mayor of Carmel, CA. For the past 15 years she and her husband and pianist, David Cohen, have been the house duo at the famed Derby restaurant in Arcadia. With her one-woman show, she headlined at Merv Griffin’s Resorts International in Atlantic City. She was most recently seen as Eva Peron in Evita for P3 at the Ernest Borgnine theater in Long Beach – some of her other regional credits include Always Patsy Cline in Las Vegas co-starring with Ms. Sally Struthers, Maria in Sound of Music, Daisy Gamble in On a Clear Day…, Guenevere in Camelot, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha.
